A Slice of Life
'A Slice of Life' is an artwork in a major transport hub and was developed through community engagement workshops during the transition from the old bus station to the new and represents stories related to local journeys. During the workshops drawings were made with coloured tape in which people drew and annotated the their journeys. People make journeys for many different reasons and each coloured disc may be considered a destination that has special significance for someone. The destinations are personal rather than functional and replace named bus stops with personal landmarks. They may be places of interest, places of work, places to shop, to visit, to rest and think.
