Business Skills for Artists, 2 day course

What is it?

The 2 day course is a sharing exercise run by Neil Musson and Jono Retallick who founded M+R in 2013. It's designed for recent BA and MA graduates from art and design programmes but open to anyone on a first come first served basis. We want to share our knowledge about making a living as an artist with you.

Neil and Jono have a combined 40 years of experience making a living from commissioned artworks. M+R operates globally and is successful in merging diverse and playful arts practice with the ability to make money. We'll tell you exactly what we would have liked to have known when we were starting out and what we have learned along the way. We'll share our knowledge with the aim of empowering you to be effective and profitable in your creative career.

How does it work?

There is a planned framework for two days which will be packed with information yet remain light hearted and very honest. You can ask anything or just listen. You do not need to bring anything however means of taking notes and presenting the work you do are highly recommended. We will ask for some digital images of your work in advance to help with group introductions. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own lunch.

What is the group size?

Not more than 15. This keeps it low key and allows everyone to be fully involved. We will add names to a waiting list if there is more interest.
