Migration

Migration

'Migration' is an installation of 4000 reflective elements flowing through the grounds of Compton Verney Art Gallery. Their journey includes woodland, a willow tunnel, a lake crossing and vast swathes spreading out across the lawn. The installation was inspired by a miniature mechanical elephant made by Faberge and given as a gift to King George V and exhibited at Compton Verney. M+R imagined what would have happened if this mechanical elephant came to life and, led by its animal instincts, started its migration through the grounds of this grand house. The installation is activated by participants using torches to illuminate their individual viewpoints.
