Migration

Migration

'Migration' explores the displacement of communities across international borders and the way in which they are viewed and categorised. 4000 reflective elements flow through the grounds of Compton Verney Art Gallery including woodland, a willow tunnel, a lake crossing and the grand lawn. The work was initially inspired by a miniature mechanical elephant made by Faberge, owned by King George V and exhibited at Compton Verney. M+R imagined it, led by its animal instincts, starting its migration through the grounds of this grand house. The installation is activated by participants using torches to illuminate their individual viewpoints.
